Film shoot in Woodstock NY

Today was the first day that I was involved in acting in the film "Peace, Love and Misunderstanding." The shoot was an anti-war rally in lovely, quirky downtown Woodstock, NY. We had protestors (I was one), passersby, a bearded college guy, a guy driving past in a Hummer who said "F**k you" while he gave us the finger, Jane Fonda coming on the set and leading our protest, wonderful circle drummers and various other actors. All of us protestors arrived at 10 am, and we finally finished shooting shortly after 8 pm, with a half hour break for lunch.

The weather was good to us - the sun shone most of the day, it was comfortably warm and not too humid. There was a lot of sitting or standing around waiting, of course, but when they called for action, we all jumped in to do our jobs, with high energy all around. Before we ever started shooting, I got to know some of the other actors - David Boston IV, who gave me lots of tips on how to pursue more acting jobs (he's done LOTS of stuff in film, theater, TV and commercials), and Pat Hodges, an actress who has done theater and film full-time all her life. She has a wonderful outgoing personality and we hit it off immediately. She was a protestor too, and she and I often were side by side, holding our placards and chanting with the others: "What do we want? Peace !! When do we want it? Now !!" with the circle drummers keeping time and urging us on with their beats.

All in all it was very very fun and very very exhausting. I am hooked on film work, and I hope I get lots more work like this. I have more shoots coming up in August for this film, and I can't wait !!!!
