Where does the time go?

The last few months have been a whirlwind. I completed my book "Dream, Believe, Create" by the end of July and am now looking for a publisher. Then our area in New York State experienced a hurricane in August, pretty much unheard-of here. It brought down the huge oak tree in my front yard, which thankfully fell away from the house. But even more importantly, it flooded the home that my younger son Michael and his lovely partner Jacinta were renting - with three and a half feet of water in the first floor !!! They lost most of their belongings, and it seemed very devastating. But with the help of so many people, they have gotten back on their feet and are buying a house quite near me. In the meantime they have been living here in my house, and we have all had a wonderful time together.

I have been very busy with teaching at the College of St. Rose each week, an eight day trip to China in October, a Divine Cosmos conference in Tempe in November, delving into writing my new book about Robert Adsit, TMI workshops every Sunday, studying Chinese, and getting back to working with Emily Upham on the beautiful mélodies of French art song. Life is never boring, that's for sure.

And through it all, I remain so very thankful for my life, my health, my family and friends, and my work. I try to always keep in mind how beautiful life can be, and I am grateful.
