Welcome to Marta's Site
Marta is an entertainer, a teacher, a French speaker and an author who loves to share her joy and excitement for life with others.
As a pianist, singer and keyboard player, Marta has begun to do a concert series, Marta's Heart: Calming Music for Troubling Times. It includes classical piano and vocal pieces as well as some standard vocal selections such as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Her first concert was in northern Maine in August 2017, and she continues to perform her program in people's homes as well as in public venues. She plays either the piano in each venue or brings her electronic keyboard, so she can perform anywhere.
Marta also plays for weddings and other private events and accompanies silent films on piano. She plays organ in churches and does free-lance work with other musicians such as The Four Aces, with whom she plays synthesizer.
A dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, Marta gives lessons in popular singing, piano and composition at The College of St. Rose in Albany, at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and at her home in Stone Ridge, NY.
She speaks fluent French as well as some Mandarin and Italian, and is fascinated by the ways in which people express themselves. She offers lessons in French at her home, providing a comfortable and supportive environment for learning.
An author, in 2012 Marta released her first book "Dream, Believe, Create," about creating the life of your dreams. In 2016 she published a book about Robert Adsit, a very creative artist and musician who has had an enormous influence on her life and music. That book is entitled "The Art and Life of Robert J. Adsit."
An actor as well, she has played various characters with Murder Cafe dinner shows. Marta also plays one of Jane Fonda's friends in the 2011 movie "Peace, Love and Misunderstanding." She is a background actor and body double in the new film "Late Phases," and appears in several other films as well.
